As a Violinist, I am passionate and emotional, playing from my heart and improvising based on what I feel and experience around me. I create sounds that represent the inner workings of my soul, and I form melodies that express the undulations of my spirit.
I have played for 15 years, most of them trained classically, up until 2 years ago. At that time my Nonni passed away, the best Grandmother I could ever ask for and who inspired me to play the violin. At the age of 10 I wanted to play an instrument and asked her what her favorite was. She replied, “The Violin,” and so it begun.
The day she passed away I picked up my violin and played without looking at written notes on a sheet of music. I played from my heart and soul, the emotion and pain I felt inside. I expressed my grief, memories, and love through the notes. My fingers seemed to fall on their own as I processed one of the most intense experiences of my life. My music changed as I was overcome with joy that she was no longer suffering, and that she was proud of me, and that no matter what her spirit would carry on within me. I realized then that the violin was an extension of my soul, a way for me to express what words cannot, and a way to heal others by playing completely in the moment, feeding off the energy of people and my surroundings. I healed myself with my violin, and I gave myself an outlet to fall on, where my feelings become creative energy transferred into music and melodies.
From then on I have created my own sound, unique to my own inner workings and powerful because of You. People and their journeys, emotions, and lives are what inspire my music. Humanity and it’s advancement and culture. Mother Nature and her beauty inspire much of my music.
As the seasons change, as human consciousness changes, as lives all around me change, my music changes also. The ocean brings out a different song than an urban street, a person crying inside brings out a different song than one who feels triumphant.
No song is ever the same, none are ever repeated. Those who hear my violin can be sure that they are in a moment unique and special as the soundtrack they hear.
